Important
- An active internet connection is required to process the transfer.

- The target and source systems are required to have the latest system update before the transfer can begin.
- You cannot perform a system transfer if the target system has a Nintendo Network ID linked. You must format the target system to remove the Nintendo Network ID link prior to transferring content.

- Use a PC to copy all data from the SD Card of the source system to the microSD Card of the target system. The target card should be formatted before performing this step per our recommendations. You may also find our information on transferring data between SD Cards or microSD Cards helpful.
- Once the data has been copied, reinsert the microSD Card into the target system. The transfer is complete.
- If the data is not transferred from the source SD Card to the target SD Card, or transferred incorrectly, the system will display a notification that this step needs to be completed each time the system is restarted. If this occurs, ensure that you transferred data from the source to target systems SD Card correctly. This message will go away if the system is restarted four times.
