Touch Screen Is Not Responding on Nintendo Switch

Steps to help you when the screen on the Nintendo Switch console does not work as expected when you tap or swipe it with your finger.
Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch console
- A soft, dry, clean cotton cloth
What to do
- Power off the Nintendo Switch console by holding the POWER button for at least three seconds, then selecting Turn Off from the Power Options menu.
- Remove any screen protectors from the console.
- Clean the console screen using a soft, dry, clean cotton cloth.
Important: Do not use solvents or cleaners of any kind.
- Power on the console by pressing the POWER button.
- Run the touch screen test, using your finger when touching the screen.

How to run a touch screen test
- From the HOME Menu select System Settings. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select Controllers and Sensors.

- Select Test Input Devices, then Test Touch Screen.

- Use your finger (not a stylus) to draw something on the screen.

- There is no confirmation message. Press the B Button to return to the previous screen.
