Steps for situations where you purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership code that was intended for use in a different region than the region where you are trying to redeem it.
What to do
- Nintendo Switch Online membership codes are specific to a particular region, which means they can only be redeemed on systems and/or Nintendo Accounts that are set to that same region.
- Codes purchased for use in the Americas can be redeemed on a Nintendo Account set to any country of that region where the Nintendo eShop is available.
- Codes purchased for regions outside of the Americas will only work with Nintendo Accounts set for those regions. (For example, a Japanese code will not work with a Nintendo Account set to the U.S.)
- On physical cards, the country where the Nintendo Switch Online membership code is meant to be used can be found on the back of the card.
- We are unable to exchange Nintendo Switch Online membership download codes designed for sale in one country for codes in another.
- We recommend you work with the retailer where you purchased the download code or find another use for it, such as giving it as a gift.
