How to Share Responsibility for Parental Controls using the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App
Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, Nintendo Switch Parental Controls
Follow these steps to share the responsibility for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch Parental Controls settings with another person in your Nintendo Account family group.
Before you start
Each parent/guardian (up to 2) that will share the responsibility for setting Parental Controls will need:
- Their own Nintendo Account.
- Their Nintendo Accounts will need to have the Parent/Guardian role and both be in the same family group as the children.
- The family group admin can invite members to the family group, as well as set Nintendo Accounts to have the Parent/Guardian role as long as they are over the age of 18.
- Their own smart device (iOS or Android) to install the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on.
Complete these steps
- Download the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on both smart devices that will be used to manage Parental Controls.

- Visit p.nintendo.com using your smart device.
- The link should redirect you to the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android).
- Select the appropriate option to download/install or update the app.

How to download the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app
- Link the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on one of the smart devices. The other device parent/guardian will sign in on the app in a later step.
- Select Parental Controls in the lower-right corner.
- Select the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Shared Parental Controls.
- Select Start Setup.
- Review the supervised systems that will be shared, then select Next.
- Select the family group member that you want to share parental controls with, then select OK. A confirmation message should appear, and you can select OK again to close it.

Family group member isn't appearing
- If you are the family group admin setting this up, you can select Invite to create a QR code the other person can scan to invite them to the family group and continue this process.
- If you are not the family group admin, the admin will need to invite the other parent/guardian to the family group before you can proceed.

Family group member isn't appearing
- On the other smart device, sign in to the other parent/guardian's Nintendo Account.
- If you are already signed in on the other device and have one or more systems linked, go to the Shared Parental Controls setting to proceed.
- You'll be prompted to start sharing Parental Controls. Select Yes, then select OK.
Additional information
- While settings are shared, both parents/guardians can change the Parental Controls settings on each Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console linked to either smart device. You can also receive notifications when the person you're sharing with makes changes to parental controls settings.
- Either parent/guardian can stop sharing Parental Control responsibility by selecting Delete Settings for Shared Parental Controls. Each smart device will still be linked to whichever consoles they had linked directly.
