Error Code: 2206-0092
Use this article when you're trying to perform a system transfer from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2 and you receive Error Code: 2206-0092.
What to do

Retry the system transfer
- Press and hold the POWER Button on both consoles for 12 seconds to turn them off.
- Remove the microSD card from the Nintendo Switch (source) console.

How to remove a microSD card
- With the console powered off, locate the microSD card slot:
- Nintendo Switch 2: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch: Gently swing the stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch Lite: Gently open the microSD card slot cover.
- Nintendo Switch 2: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Gently push down on the top of the microSD card until you hear a click, then slide it out of the microSD card slot.

- With the console powered off, locate the microSD card slot:

How to remove a microSD card
- Turn both consoles back on by pressing the POWER Button.
- On the screen with the message about resuming the system transfer, press and hold the (L) or (R) Stick AND (+) or (-) Button on the controller(s) for about two seconds. This should cancel the system transfer.
- Start the system transfer over from the beginning.

Perform a server-based transfer
- If you still receive the error message, turn off both systems again by pressing and holding the POWER Button on both consoles for 12 seconds to turn them off.
- Turn both consoles back on by pressing the POWER Button.
- On the screen with the message about resuming the system transfer, press and hold the (L) or (R) Stick AND (+) or (-) Button on the controller(s) for about two seconds to cancel the transfer.
- Perform a server-based transfer instead.

Manually transfer the save data
- If that still does not resolve the issue, link your Nintendo Account to your Nintendo Switch 2 console.

How to link an existing Nintendo Account to Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to highlight UsersUsuariosUtilisateursUsuários, then select the user you want to link to to access the Profile Settings.
- Select Sign in to a Nintendo Account or Link Nintendo Account.
- Sign in to your Nintendo Account.
- If you've forgotten your Nintendo Account sign-in information, you can recover or reset your sign-in information.
- Select Link to link your Nintendo Account to the user account on the console.
- Once the Nintendo Account is linked, it cannot be unlinked or changed for that user account.
- Click OK on the confirmation message to return to the system settings.
