This message indicates that you did not use the primary console for your Nintendo Account to perform the system update that enabled the use of virtual game cards.
Possible solutions
- If you have access to your primary console, perform the system update on that console, then on this console.
- If you do not have access to your primary console, or aren't sure which console is your primary console, perform the following:
- Select System Unavailable when the message appears.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to load virtual game cards on this console.
- This console will become one of your consoles that can load virtual game cards—in order to play your games and digital content on your other consoles, update those consoles and then follow the steps in the Virtual Game Card guide.
