How to Use amiibo Figures (Kirby Air Riders)

Nintendo Switch 2

Follow these steps to use amiibo figures in Kirby Air Riders.

Information

Amiibo figures can be used in the game as follows:

  • Scan compatible amiibo to get rewards, such as Miles to use in-game for purchasing items. Kirby series amiibo may provide different or additional rewards compared to other series. You can scan amiibo for rewards five times per day. Each amiibo can only be scanned for rewards once per day.
  • If you scan a Kirby Air Riders amiibo, your Main Menu Figure can be updated to match the rider & air ride machine combo of your figure. These can also be used to play with a figure player (FP) in certain modes, matching the combination you scanned, which can be trained through gameplay. Unique rewards are unlocked the first time you scan these amiibo.

Complete these steps

  1. Start the Kirby Air Riders software from the HOME Menu.
  2. Select Extras on the bottom of the Main Menu.
  3. Select amiibo.
  4. Touch the amiibo to the NFC touchpoint. If this is the first time scanning this amiibo, you'll also need to register a nickname and owner for it.
    • On the Joy-Con 2, the NFC touchpoint is located on the right control stick. Amiibo being touched to the NFC touch point of the Joy-Con 2 (R) Right Stick
    • On the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, the NFC touchpoint is located over the Nintendo Switch 2 logo at the top-center of the controller. amiibo being touched to the NFC touch point of the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
    • On the Joy-Con, the NFC touchpoint is located on the right control stick.
      • Note: Joy-Con controllers can only be used wirelessly with Nintendo Switch 2.
    • On the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, the NFC touchpoint is located over the Nintendo Switch logo at the top-center of the controller.
      • Note: The NFC touchpoint on Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers are turned off when using a wired connection.
  5. After scanning the amiibo, various rewards will be received. For Kirby Air Riders amiibo, you can begin training the amiibo as a figure player by selecting Training, change its color and headwear by selection Fashion, toggle whether it learns while playing or retains its current style, and review its stats.
  6. Once you're finished training your figure player, scan the amiibo again to save its updated level and machine proficiency.
    • Each amiibo figure for a rider will keep track of machine proficiency for the different machine amiibo you can place them onto. The FP level will be retained regardless of which machine amiibo it's combined with.
  7. In supported multiplayer modes, you can select the amiibo icon while choosing your rider, then tap your Kirby Air Riders amiibo to add it to that match as a figure player or have it take your spot for that match, depending on the situation. After you finish playing that mode, you will be prompted to scan the amiibo again to save its progress.
    • While in a paddock, you can interact with the amiibo terminal to scan your amiibo and include the figure player in your matches.
