How to Use the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller as a Wired Controller

Follow these steps to connect and use the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller as a wired controller on Nintendo Switch 2.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Switch 2 console
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
  • USB-C to USB-C cable (sold separately) or USB-C to USB-A cable (model No. BEE-011), depending on how you want to connect the controller
  • Your Nintendo Switch 2 dock (optional)

Complete these steps

Are you using the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller on a Nintendo Switch 2 in TV mode or Tabletop mode?

  • TV mode
    1. Place the Nintendo Switch 2 in the dock to use the console in TV mode.
    2. Plug the USB-C to USB-A cable (model No. BEE-011) into the dock on the USB ports on the side. Diagram showing the front of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock with the USB ports labeled by '1'

    4. Begin using the controller in wired mode.
  • Tabletop mode

    2. Plug one end the USB-C to USB-C cable (sold separately) into the USB Type-C connector on the top of the console. Diagram showing the front of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock with the USB ports labeled by '1'

    4. Begin using the controller in wired mode.
