How to Transfer Data Between microSD Express Cards for Use on Nintendo Switch 2

Steps on how to transfer information from one microSD Express card to another for use on Nintendo Switch 2.
Important: This process may not be able to copy the microSD card contents correctly in environments other than Windows (such as Mac).
Before you start
You will need:
- Two compatible microSD Express cards.
- An SD card slot on your computer, or a commercially available microSD card reader/writer.
- If your computer does not have a slot that supports microSD cards, you will need an SD card adapter.
Complete these steps
- Make sure the new microSD Express card is formatted per our recommendations before using.
- Do not delete, format, or alter the content from the original microSD Express card until you have verified the new microSD card is working correctly.
- Remove the original microSD Express card from the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Remove a microSD Express card
- Power off the console, then gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD Express card slot.
- Gently push down on the top of the microSD Express card until you hear a click, then slide it out of the microSD Express card slot.

Remove a microSD Express card
- Insert the microSD Express card with the Nintendo Switch 2 data into the microSD card reader/writer.
- Open Windows Explorer and access the microSD Express card.
- Highlight the data and drag it to the desktop. Always copy the entire folder, and never alter or erase the files it contains.
- Eject the original microSD Express card, then insert the new microSD Express card into the computer's slot or reader/writer.
- Use Windows Explorer again to access the microSD Express card.
- Drag the data from the desktop to the new microSD Express card, then eject it.
- Insert the new microSD Express card into the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

- Power off the console.
- Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD Express card slot.
- Ensure the microSD Express card is properly positioned with the label facing away from the console.
- Insert the microSD Express card into the slot and gently push down until it clicks into place.

Additional information
- Software downloaded to a microSD Express card on one console will not be playable on a different system.
