Joy-Con 2 Control Sticks Are Stuck or Difficult to Move

Steps for when:
- The control sticks on one or both of the Joy-Con 2 controllers feel sticky, hard to press, or hard to move.
- After pressing down the control stick on the Joy-Con 2, it will not return to its normal position.
Complete these steps
- Power off your Nintendo Switch 2 console.

- Press and hold the POWER Button
for at least three seconds.
- Select Power Options.
- Select Power Off.
- Using a clean, dry toothbrush, gently brush the area around the control stick(s).
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dirt or debris.
- Power on the system again, then calibrate the control stick(s).

How to calibrate control sticks on Nintendo Switch 2
Important: Please avoid calibrating unless there is a problem.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down and select Controllers & Accessories.
- On the right, select Calibrate Control Sticks.
- Tilt the control stick you want to calibrate.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to test the control stick and calibrate if needed.
Situation not resolved
If the control stick(s) continue to be stuck, hard to press, or hard to move, then the affected Joy-Con 2 controller(s) will need to be serviced.
If the issue persists, please visit the Nintendo website to set up the service.
