Nintendo Switch 2
Steps to hook up a Nintendo Switch 2 to a television set or monitor using HDMI.
Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch 2 console
- A Nintendo Switch 2 dock
- A Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter (model no. NGN-01)
- An Ultra High Speed HDMI cable
Complete these steps
- Open the back cover of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
- Connect the USB Type-C cable into the AC adapter port for the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter.
- Connect the USB Type-C plug from the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (model No. NGN-01)
into the AC adapter port, then connect the AC plug to a wall outlet.
- Due to differing power output, the Nintendo Switch AC adapter can not be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock to support TV mode.
- Connect one end of the Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, such as the one included with Nintendo Switch 2, into the HDMI port on the dock, then connect the other end into an HDMI port on your television or monitor.
Important:The HDMI cable included with Nintendo Switch is not Ultra High Speed and cannot be used to play Nintendo Switch 2 in TV mode.
- Close the back cover of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
- Remove the left and right Joy-Con 2 controllers from the console.
Important: If the Joy-Con 2 controllers have not previously been attached to the console, they must first be paired in order to be used as wireless controllers.
- Position the console so that the console screen faces in the same direction as the front panel on the dock, then insert the console into the dock.
- When docked, the console screen will shut off.
- Turn the TV set on and select the correct HDMI input.
