Mouse Controls Not Working With Joy-Con 2 Controllers

Nintendo Switch 2

This article can help when you're trying to use your Joy-Con 2 controller(s) as a mouse, but the mouse controls aren't working properly or at all.

What to do

  1. Confirm that your Joy-Con 2 is wirelessly paired.
  2. Confirm that the mouse control function is turned on.
    • How to turn on Joy-Con 2 mouse controls
      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      2. Select Controllers & Accessories.
      3. Scroll down to Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls.
      4. Toggle the option on, if it isn't already.
  3. Confirm that the dock is connected using a Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
    • The HDMI cable included with the console is an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
    • If the HDMI cable being used is not an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, swap it out for a supported HDMI cable.
  4. Change the mouse sensitivity speed.
  5. Try using the mouse on a different surface.
    • Mouse controls may not work depending on the surface you are using.
    • A glass table or a table that reflects a lot of light, skin, uneven surfaces, or items with repeating patterns (like a tablecloth) are not ideal surfaces and may cause interference.

Situation not resolved

If the issue persists, then the affected Joy-Con 2 controller(s) will need to come in for service.
