Sensor Zone Check Failing On Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Steps for when you run the “Sensor Zone Check” on Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo and it fails, indicating there’s a moving object within the sensor detection area.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

You may need to move your device or items within the sensor zone while troubleshooting.

Information

Alarmo is intended to work best with one user. Moving objects in the bedroom may cause the device to not work as intended.

Example of moving objects:

  • Other humans and pets
  • Devices with moving parts such as analog clock, humidifier, air conditioner, computer, oscillating fan, some medical equipment, ceiling fan, robot vacuum cleaner
  • Objects that may move if a window is open such as hanging light fixtures, plants, curtains

Please note, this list is not extensive. Other objects may be detected as moving objects in the sensor zone.

What to do

  1. Check that you’re on the most current system update. If not, update your device.
  2. Change the location of the device. For example, if it was placed at the head of the bed previously, try moving it to the side next to the bed.
    • The device should be placed on a level surface that is within 20in/50cm from the edge of the bed and is no higher than 8in/20cm above the bed.
  3. Remove or turn off the moving object that was detected in the sensor zone.
  4. Run “Check Sensor Zone” again.

Situation not resolved

If you’re unable to get the alarm to stop due to other objects in the sensor zone, you can consider using Button Mode rather than the sensor.

If there are no obstructions or other moving objects that are causing the issue, your device will need to come in for service.

For your convenience, Nintendo provides a quick and easy-to-use online service request process.
