Alarm Stops Unexpectedly On Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Steps to resolve issues with the alarm ending prematurely, and the fanfare plays when you haven’t gotten out of bed.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

You may need to move your device or items within the sensor zone while troubleshooting.

What to do

  • Check the position of the device
    1. Check that you’re on the most current system update.
    2. Confirm that the surface that device sits on is level.
    3. Check that the device is within 20in/50cm from the edge of the bed.
      • Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is intended to work with bed sizes Twin through King. Larger or non-standard size beds may cause the device to not work as intended.
      • Alarmo is also intended to work best with one user. Additional people, or pets, in the bed may cause the device to not work as intended.
    4. Check that the device is no higher than 8in/20cm above the bed.
  • Reconfigure the sensor zone
    1. Open the Menu by pressing the Confirm Button once. Press the Confirm Button on Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo
    2. Turn the dial to find the Settings screen. Turn the dial on Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo
    3. Press the Confirm Button.
    4. Turn the dial to find the Sensor Zone screen.
    5. Press the Confirm Button.
    6. Follow the prompts to configure the device layout and update the sensor zone.
  • Check sensor zone for moving objects
    1. Open the Menu by pressing the Confirm Button once.
    2. Turn the dial to find the Help screen.
    3. Press the Confirm Button.
    4. Turn the dial to find the Check Sensor Zone screen.
    5. Press the Confirm Button to start the check.
      • If it passes the check, no moving objects were found in the sensor zone.
      • If it fails the check, a moving object was found in the sensor zone and it likely is what’s preventing the alarm from functioning properly. Remove the moving object and run the check again.
  • Test the alarm

Test your alarm to confirm it’s functioning as expected. We recommend that you set a new alarm in the near future to test that the alarm is functioning properly and then set it back to your preferred time after the test.

Situation not resolved

If you’re unable to get the alarm to keep playing until you get out of bed due to other objects in the sensor zone, you can consider using Button Mode rather than the sensor.

If there are no obstructions or other moving objects that are causing the issue but the alarm still ends while you’re still in bed, your device will need to come in for service.

For your convenience, Nintendo provides a quick and easy-to-use online service request process.
