How to Set Up a Local or Online Multiplayer Game (Super Mario Bros. Wonder)
Follow these steps to play locally or online with friends in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park.
Before you start
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership and Internet connection are required to play online.
- Make sure everyone playing with their own copy of the game has updated their software to the latest version.

How to update game software
- Ensure the console is connected to the Internet.
- From the HOME Menu, select (but do not start) the icon for the software you wish to update.
- Press the + Button or – Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

How to update game software
- In Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, Bellabel Park becomes available after you complete the first four courses in W1 Pipe-Rock Plateau. Once you have three Wonder Seeds, you can free a trapped Poplin to unlock Bellabel Park.

Local Multiplayer (single system, up to four players)
In local play, you can play with up to four players on one Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. If you're playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, attractions in the Local Multiplayer Plaza will be available to play in addition to the main game's courses.

Play Online with live player shadows
Connect online and play with live player shadows to see other players going through the same courses as you. Players and live player shadows can't directly interact with each other, but you can help each other in various ways, such as by placing standees to revive players who have become ghosts.

Play Online with Friends (online play with multiple games and consoles, up to 12 players)
Online multiplayer is only possible when all players are using the same version of the game. If you're playing the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and want to play together with someone who has the Nintendo Switch version, you can select Launch Nintendo Switch edition on the title screen to play that version together.
- In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, up to two players can join an online Game Room from one console, and up to 12 players can join a single room. Up to four players can play together in the same course.
- In Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, each player needs their own console and copy of the game to join an online Game Room. All twelve players in the room can play together in the same course. Attraction Tour and attractions in Bellabel Park's Game Room Plaza will be available to play in addition to the main game's courses.

Play via Local Wireless (local wireless play with multiple games and consoles, up to eight players)
Up to eight players can join a single Game Room, and all eight players in the room can play together in the same course. Attraction Tour and attractions in Bellabel Park's Game Room Plaza will be available to play in addition to the main game's courses.
- Start the Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park software from the HOME Menu.
- Press the L Button and R Button together on the title screen.
- Select Start.
- Use the L Button and R Button to select a User, then select Continue or Meetup in Bellabel Park.
- Select Game Rooms.
- Select Play via Local Wireless.
- Have one player create a room and act as a host:
- Select Create Room.
- If you’d like to set a password, press the X Button and enter it.
- Select OK Aceptar OK OK to confirm.
- You may be prompted to stay in your current location or go to Bellabel Park. Select one of the options to continue.
- Have the other players join the room:
- Select Join Room.
- A list of rooms will display. Select the room you want to join, then select Enter Room.
- If the host set a password, enter it.
- You may be prompted to stay in your current location or go to Bellabel Park. Select one of the options to continue.
- The following options are available for multiplayer:
- Standard courses can be played from the world map. Select a course to begin playing.
- In Bellabel Park, you can play Attraction Tour and attractions in the Game Room Plaza.

Play via LAN Communication (local wired play with multiple games and consoles, up to 12 players)
LAN Play is a way of playing together within a local area network in a location such as a household by connecting multiple Nintendo Switch 2 consoles with Ethernet cables.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park allows you to play with up to 12 people by connecting up to 12 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
A wired router is needed to connect the consoles together via a wired Internet connection.
Depending on the number of consoles connected, a networking switch may also be needed to connect all players together. Each player also needs:
- A Nintendo Switch 2 console
- A Nintendo Switch 2 dock, AC adapter, and Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
- A copy of the Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park software
- An ethernet cable
- A television or monitor
- Create a wired Internet connection on each Nintendo Switch 2 console.

How to create a wired Internet connection on Nintendo Switch 2
Important: The Nintendo Switch 2 console must be docked to be able to connect online using the wired connection type.
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock and then connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your router or gateway.
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console into the dock.
- On the console, select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals first.
- Once the option is available, select Wired ConnectionConexión con cableConnexion par câbleConexão por cabo.
- Select Connect to the Internet via Wired Connection.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
- If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear, which can help you troubleshoot connection errors.
- We also recommend setting up a wireless internet connection. This enables you to connect online even when your Nintendo Switch 2 is not placed in the dock.
Important
- All of the consoles must be connected to the same, shared router to use the LAN Play feature.
- If your router does not have enough LAN ports for every console you wish to connect, a networking switch can be connected to the router to provide additional LAN ports.

How to create a wired Internet connection on Nintendo Switch 2
- When all of the desired consoles are connected, start the Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park software from the HOME Menu on each console.
- Press the L Button and R Button together on the title screen.
- Select Start.
- Use the L Button and R Button to select a User.
- Select Game Rooms.
- Hold the L Button and R Button, and then press the left stick in. If done correctly, the "Play Via Local Wireless" option will change to "Play via LAN Communication".
- Select Play via LAN Communication.
- Have one player create a room and act as a host:
- Select Create Room.
- Select OK Aceptar OK OK to confirm.
- You may be prompted to stay in your current location or go to Bellabel Park. Select one of the options to continue.
- Have the other players join the room:
- Select Join Room.
- A list of rooms will display. Select the room you want to join, then select Enter Room.

GameShare with Nearby Players (local wireless play with one game and multiple consoles, up to four players)
To host the GameShare session
Perform the following steps on a Nintendo Switch 2 console with a copy of the game:
- Start the Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park software from the HOME Menu.
- Press the L Button and R Button together on the title screen.
- Select Start.
- Use the L Button and R Button to select a user.
- Select Continue or Meetup in Bellabel Park.
- Select GameShare.
- Select Play with Nearby Players.
- Press the L Button and R Button on the controller you'd like to use.
- Wait for the other players to join using the steps below. Once the other players have joined, select Start.
- The GameShare session will begin with the host in control of player 1. All players can select their character. In the main game, all courses are playable to play. In Bellabel Park, Attraction Tour and attractions in the Local Multiplayer Plaza will be available to play. Any player can select and start a course or attraction.
- When you want to change back to single player or end the GameShare session, press the + Button while on the World Map, then select Quit GameShare, then select End.
To join the GameShare session
Perform the following steps on either a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console:
- Select the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu.
- Select Join GameShare.
- Select A Local User.
- Select the user you want to join the GameShare session with.
- The console will search for nearby sessions you can join. Once you’ve found the session you want, select Join GameShare.
- Press the L Button and R Button on the controller you'd like to use.
- Wait for the host to start the session, then select your character and play together!
- If you'd like to end the GameShare session from your end, press the HOME Button and select Close.

GameShare via GameChat (online play with one game and multiple consoles, up to four players)
All users who want to play the game together must first join a GameChat room. The person who creates the room does not need to be the person who hosts the GameShare session.
To host the GameShare session
- Start the Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park software from the HOME Menu.
- Press the L Button and R Button together on the title screen.
- Select Start.
- Use the L Button and R Button to select a user.
- Select Continue or Meetup in Bellabel Park.
- Select GameShare.
- Select Play via GameChat.
- Press the L Button and R Button on the controller you'd like to use.
- Choose a player to invite, then select OK Aceptar OK OK to confirm.
- Wait for the other players to join using the steps below. Once the other players have joined, select Start.
- The GameShare session will begin with the host in control of player 1. All players can select their character. In the main game, all courses are playable to play. In Bellabel Park, Attraction Tour and attractions in the Local Multiplayer Plaza will be available to play. Any player can select and start a course or attraction.
- When you want to change back to single player or end the GameShare session, press the + Button while on the World Map, then select Quit GameShare, then select End.
To join the GameShare session
- Once the host invites you, press the

- On the right, select See Invites to GameShare.
- You can also view available GameShare sessions by selecting the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu, then selecting A User in a GameChat Session.
- Select Join GameShare.
- Wait for the host to start the session, then select your character and play together!
- If you'd like to end the GameShare session from your end, press the HOME Button and select Close.
