Steps for when, while trying to make a purchase in the Nintendo Store, you receive error code 9001-5599 and the message "An error has occurred. Please try again later."

What to do

  1. Try to make the purchase directly in the Nintendo eShop.
  2. If the issue persists, check for any maintenance or outage notifications and then try again after the posted maintenance/service outage has ended.
  3. If no maintenance or outage notifications are posted, it may be a temporary issue. Please wait for a while and try again later.
