How to Start a Multiplayer Game (Mario Strikers: Battle League)

Complete these steps

How would you like to play with others?

• Offline (Single Console)

  Up to 8 players can play on a single console.

  1. Open the Mario Strikers: Battle League game from the HOME Menu.
  2. Select Quick Battle.
  3. Highlight Single Console and select the number of players.
  4. Connect a controller for each player.
  5. Select the Match Settings, teams, and characters.
  6. The captain of each team must select a club uniform and stadium, then the match begins.
• Local Wireless (2 or More Consoles)

  Up to four systems can connect over local wireless with 1-2 players on each system, allowing for a maximum 8-player match.

  1. Open the Mario Strikers: Battle League game from the HOME Menu on each system.
  2. Select Quick Battle.
  3. Highlight Local Wireless and select the number of players using the individual console.
  4. If 2 Players is selected, connect a controller for each player.
  5. The host system must press the Y Button to create a room for the other systems to join, then select the Match Settings.
  6. Players on the other console(s) can select to join the host’s room after it is created.
  7. Select teams and characters.
  8. The captain of each team must select a club uniform and stadium, then the match begins.
• Online

  Up to four systems can connect online with 1-2 players on each console, allowing for a maximum 8-player match.

  • A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to play online.
  • Quick Battle and Strikers Club modes are available online.
    • In Quick Battle, you can play with Friends or random players worldwide.
    • In Strikers Club, you’ll create or join a club and compete in online matches with other clubs from across the globe. Earn points each season to become the best in the battle league!

  2. 1. Open the Mario Strikers: Battle League game from the HOME Menu on each system.
     2. Select Quick Battle.
     3. Select Online Play.
     4. Highlight any of the following options and select the number of players:
        • Play Anyone: Play with random players worldwide.
        • Join Friends: Pair up with Friends and play with random players worldwide.
        • Battle Friends: Play only with Friends.

     How would you like to play online?

     Play Anyone Join Friends Battle Friends

     1. Open the Mario Strikers: Battle League game from the HOME Menu on each system.
     2. Select Strikers Club.
     3. If you have not done so, join or create a club.
     4. Select Season Match if a season is in session or Open Match if it is off-season.
     5. Select Pair Up and Battle to search for other club members to join your team or select Battle Without Pairing Up if you want only the players on your system to be on your team.
     6. If Pair Up and Battle is chosen, select a room to join another player. Or, if you will be the host, press the Y Button to create a room.
