This error message will appear if you try to redeem a download code for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Individual or Family membership on a Nintendo Account that is part of a family group with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Family membership.
Possible solutions
- If the download code is for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Family membership, have the Nintendo Account owner that purchased the current family membership redeem the download code to extend the overall membership timeframe.
- If the download code is for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Individual membership, you can leave your family group. After doing so, you will be able to redeem the download code for your Nintendo Account.
- When the current family membership ends, you will able to redeem the download code. Be sure to turn off auto-renewal before the current membership ends if you wish to do this.
