- Make sure your Nintendo Account is set to the correct country.
- Confirm your system has the latest system version.

- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

- If the error occurs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons after restoring your island backup data, make sure you are using the system that you restored the data on.
- If a resident has also moved to a new island on a different system, make sure that resident's player is using the system that they moved to.
