How to Improve Connection and Reduce Latency in Cloud Versions of Games

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

The information in this article can help ensure you have a stable connection to experience Cloud Versions of games.

Cloud Versions of games require a consistent internet connection to play. For the highest quality experience, we recommend the following:

  • Use a persistent and stable high-speed internet connection.
    • If your connection slows down, check if bandwidth is being used by other users/devices in your home. Multiple devices on the same network may affect your experience.
    • Contact your ISP to verify your connection speed.
  • Optimize your network environment.
    • Use a wired connection to your router, if possible.
    • If connected to a router wirelessly, it is preferred that you use the 5 GHz band. Try using the router’s other band (2.4 GHz) if you experience poor connection. Your console should have a direct line of sight to your router. Make sure both devices are in central and open locations away from walls, large metal objects, and other electronic devices.
  • Follow our troubleshooting for slow download and upload speeds for Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.
  • If the game provides multiple quality or performance options, try adjusting those based on your gameplay experience and network environment.
