Joy-Con Does Not Pair as a Wireless Controller
Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model
Steps to help when a Joy-Con works correctly when attached to Nintendo Switch, but does not sync or register as a wireless controller on a Nintendo Switch system.
Possible solutions
- Reset the Joy-Con by pressing the SYNC Button once, then press any other button to power it on again.
- Delete the pairing information for all wireless controllers, then pair the Joy-Con to the system again.
- Reduce the distance between the Joy-Con and the system.
- Check for wireless interference.
- Ensure the battery charge on the Joy-Con is not low or depleted.
- If you are pairing the Joy-Con while playing a game, confirm that the game supports the Joy-Con as a controller and that you are not exceeding the maximum number of players possible in the game.
- Supported play modes and number of players can be found in the game description on the Nintendo website or on Nintendo eShop.
