Use this article when you open the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch and receive the following error message: "Failed to Load Cached Data. Nintendo eShop Will Restart."
Possible solutions
- Update your system to the latest version.

- Select the System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down through the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update, to start the system update process.
- During the process, the system will first perform a check to determine if a new system update is available.
- If an update is available, the download process will begin automatically.
- Select the System Settings on the HOME Menu.

- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update.

- If an update is available, it will begin to download.

- Pressing the HOME Button to return to the HOME Menu, then try to access the Nintendo eShop again.
- If you are unable to return to the HOME Menu, restart the console and then try to access the Nintendo eShop again.

Important: The following steps will delete passwords, cookies, history, and other web-related data saved in the Nintendo Switch console.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down and select System.
- Scroll down again, and select Data-Clear.
- Select Clear Cache.
- Select the user you would like to reset the cache for, and then select Clear Data to confirm.

- If an error code is received, attempt troubleshooting related to that error code.
- If a microSD card is inserted into the console, try the following steps:
- Power the console off.
- Remove the microSD/microSD Express card.
- Power the console back on.
- Try to access the Nintendo eShop again.
- If this did not resolve the issue: power the console off, and re-insert the microSD card.
- If this did resolve the issue, the issue is likely with the card. Try troubleshooting the card, try a different card, or continue using the console without one if storage space isn't a concern.
