How to Download Nintendo Switch Online Membership-Exclusive DLC

Steps to obtain downloadable content exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members.

Information

An active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to download membership-exclusive DLC. Users with a free trial or expired membership will not be able to download the exclusive content.

Complete these steps

Where do you want to Download Nintendo Switch Online Membership-Exclusive DLC?

  • On Nintendo Switch 2
    1. Select Nintendo eShopThe Nintendo eShop icon highlighted on the HOME Menu on Nintendo Switch 2 on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
    2. Select the Nintendo Account with an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
      • The DLC will only be available in-game for the Nintendo Account that downloads it.
    3. Select Nintendo Switch Online in the left menu to view available special offers.
    4. Scroll through the offers and select the exclusive DLC you want.
    5. Select Free Download.
    6. Select Free Download again to confirm.
    7. The content will begin downloading. Start the software after the download completes to access the content.
  • On Nintendo Switch
    1. Select Nintendo eShopThe Nintendo eShop icon highlighted on the HOME Menu on Nintendo Switch on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
    2. Select the Nintendo Account with an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
      • The DLC will only be available in-game for the Nintendo Account that downloads it.
    3. Select Nintendo Switch Online in the left menu to view available special offers.
    4. Scroll through the offers and select the exclusive DLC you want.
    5. Select Free Download.
    6. Select Free Download again to confirm.
    7. The content will begin downloading. Start the software after the download completes to access the content.
  • On the Nintendo Website
    1. Sign in using a Nintendo Account with an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership on Nintendo.com.
      • The DLC will only be available in-game for the Nintendo Account that downloads it.
    2. Search for the game that has membership-exclusive DLC.
    3. Click Add-on Content or scroll down to view the available downloadable content.
    4. Click Free Download next to the content you want to download.
    5. Re-enter your Nintendo Account password when prompted.
    6. Click Free Download again to confirm.
    7. The content will begin downloading on your device if it is connected to the internet. Start the software after the download completes to access the content.
