How to Redeem a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher

  • A Nintendo Switch Game Voucher can be used to redeem a single game from a select list of titles.
  • Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers expire one year from the date of purchase.
  • The voucher that is closest to expiring will automatically be used first.

  2. There are two ways to redeem Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers in Nintendo eShop—on the game details page for a specific game, or by browsing the list of eligible titles.

    There are various ways to redeem a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher online.

    How do you want to redeem the voucher?
    1. Launch the Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu using a Nintendo Account that purchased a set of vouchers and has an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
      • Vouchers can only be redeemed on the same Nintendo Account that purchased them.
    2. Locate the game that you want to purchase, and select it to reach the game details page. If it is an eligible game, you will be able to redeem a voucher to download it.
      • How to search for a game title on the Nintendo Switch eShop
        1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
        2. If there are multiple user accounts on your system, select the account you want to use.
        3. Select the magnifying glass in the upper-left corner to access the Search menu.
        4. Enter a keyword into the keyword field and select Search to search by the keyword. A list of results will appear.
          • If you would like to narrow your search further, you can adjust the Price Range and/or Genre to only display games within the category you set.
        5. After selecting a game title, scroll through the game details to view any available downloadable content.

    1. Launch the Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu using a Nintendo Account that purchased a set of vouchers and has an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
      • Vouchers can only be redeemed on the same Nintendo Account that purchased them.
    2. Select your User icon in the top-right corner.
    3. Select Nintendo Switch Online in the left menu.
    4. Scroll down to the Nintendo Switch Game Voucher section and select Redeem above the list of available Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers.
      • The voucher that is closest to expiring will automatically be used.
    5. Select the game you wish to purchase from the list of eligible games.
    6. Select Proceed to Redemption or Proceed to Pre-order to purchase the title.
      • Please note that if the game is one that is available for pre-order, the voucher will not actually be redeemed until pre-order payments are collected—no sooner than 7 days prior to the game’s release date.     1. Sign in to your Nintendo Account then visit the Nintendo Store and search for the game you want to purchase.
    2. Select the game title in the search results to display additional information about the game.
    3. Select Redeem a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher.
    4. Enter your Nintendo Account password when prompted.
    5. Select Redeem voucher to confirm the redemption.
    6. You may be prompted to select a console—choose which of your consoles you would like the game to download to.
    7. If the game has been released, it will automatically download on the primary console associated with your Nintendo Account. Once the download is complete, select the game’s icon on your HOME menu to begin playing.
      • Keep in mind that if the game is one that is available for pre-order, the voucher will not actually be redeemed until pre-order payments are collected—no sooner than 7 days prior to the game’s release date.     3. Scroll down if necessary and select Redeem a voucher.
    4. Browse the list of eligible games for the game you want to purchase.
    5. Select the game title in the list to display additional information about the game.
    6. Select Redeem a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher.
      • This is located below the "Direct download" or "Pre-order" button.
    7. Enter your Nintendo Account password when prompted.
    8. Select Redeem voucher to confirm the redemption.
