How to Transfer Your Save Data To a Nearby Console

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

Follow these steps to move a user's save data for individual or multiple games from one console to another, for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

Note: A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to use this feature.

Before you start

You will need:

  • The console to transfer save data from
  • The console to transfer save data to
  • An internet connection

Note:

  • Both consoles must be connected to the Internet.
  • The same Nintendo Account must be linked to a user on both consoles to transfer save data. Save data can only be transferred between users that are linked to the same Nintendo Account.
  • The consoles must be placed near each other.
  • Save data can be shared between Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch for compatible software.

Complete these steps

  • 1. Prepare to send the save data on the source system
    1. What is your source console?
      1. Check that your system has the latest system update.
      2. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      3. Select Data Management.
      4. Select Transfer Your Save Data.
      5. Select Send Save Data to Another Console, then select the type of system that will be the target console.
      6. Select the user whose save data file you wish to transfer.
      7. Select the save data file for each software title you want to send to another system, then select Next.
      8. Select OK. The console will begin looking for the target system.

      2. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      3. Select Data Management, and then Transfer Your Save Data.
      4. Select Send Save Data to Another Console, then select the user whose save data file you wish to transfer.

      5. Select the save data file for each software title you want to send to another system, then select Next.

      6. Select OK. The console will begin looking for the target system.

  • 2. Receive the save data on the target system
    1. What is your source console?
      1. Check that your system has the latest system update.
      2. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      3. Select Data Management, and then Transfer Your Save Data.
      4. Select Receive Save Data.
      5. Select OK Aceptar OK OK once the save data transfer is complete. You can now resume your game on the target system.

      5. Select OK Aceptar OK OK once the save data transfer is complete. You can now resume your game on the target system.
