This issue can be caused if you began to play on your console without first downloading the latest save data backup.
What to do
Perform one of the following, depending on which save data you want to keep:
- Download the save data backup that is stored to the cloud to overwrite the save data on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.
- Manually back up the save data on the console to overwrite save data backup stored in the cloud.
Keep in mind that, once save data is overwritten, it cannot be recovered.
To prevent this issue in the future, ensure that the automatic save data backup setting is enabled on each of your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch consoles, and that the consoles are connected to the internet in order to back up and download your save data before you start playing.
