How to Perform a First Time Setup (Including Connecting to the Internet)
Nintendo DS
In this article, you'll learn how to perform a first time Nintendo DS Browser setup.
Complete these steps
The first time you use the Nintendo DS Browser, you will be taken to the Setup Screen. Below are the settings you must make, in the order that they appear during the set up process.
- Keyboard Language: This sets the language for the Software Keyboard displayed when you input text. You can choose between English (US), English (UK), German, French, Italian, and Spanish. Click on the check mark symbol to confirm the setting.
- Time Zone: Tap on the + and - symbols to adjust the Time Zone to match the one you are located in. In addition, check the box labeled Daylight Savings if your region recognizes Daylight Savings. Leave it unchecked if it does not. When finished with this setting, click on the check mark symbol to confirm and advance to the next step.
- Launch-Restricting Password: Activating this feature will require a password to launch the Nintendo DS Browser. If you wish to use it, tap on the empty text box to be brought to the keyboard. Type in the password, then hit enter, and type it in a second time to confirm it. If you do not want to set a password, leave the boxes blank and tap on the check mark symbol.
- It's very important that if you set a password, you don't forget it, and don't share it with anyone else. The password feature is useful if you wish to restrict who can have access to the internet.
- Internet Connection: You need to connect your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite online through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings.
You can change these settings at any time by clicking the wrench icon of the Nintendo DS Browser screen.
