Sharing Photos Taken with the Nintendo DSi Camera
The Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL allow you to share photos in two ways: over a local wireless connection with other Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL owners, or by saving the photos to an SD Card. The systems cannot display images created on other devices (such as cell phones or digital cameras). Only photos created with the Nintendo DSi Camera can be used on the systems.
The Nintendo DSi Camera
The Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems comes with an interactive digital camera with 11 different "lenses" that can manipulate your photos in fun and creative ways. In addition to being saved directly on the system, these photos can also be saved to an SD Card. Whether the photos are on the system or an SD Card, the photos can only be shared wirelessly with other Nintendo DSi/Nintendo DSi XL owners. You can use parental controls to block the ability to wirelessly exchange photos.
SD Cards
You can save photos to an SD Card and transfer them to another Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL. You can also use your SD Card on any other device that can read images from an SD Card, such as a home computer. This makes them portable, where they can be edited and uploaded to the internet or printed without the permission of the photo's creator.
Printing photos
You cannot print images from a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL, but once saved to an SD Card, the photos can be printed from another device that reads SD Card images (such as a home computer).
