Important
- New downloads of software and DLC for the Nintendo 3DS family via Nintendo eShop ended at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Monday, March 27, 2023. For more information, read the Wii U & Nintendo 3DS eShop Discontinuation Q&A.
- This means that game demos are no longer available for download. If the demo was downloaded before March 27, 2023, it can still be played as normal.
Note
- The amount of times a demo could be played is not reset by deleting and redownloading it.
- Game demos were not available for all titles.
- A Nintendo Network ID was required to download game demos from the Nintendo eShop.
Limited use demos were available at participating Nintendo Zones.
- Demos downloaded from a Nintendo Zone would remain on the system even after leaving the Hotspot.
- Content available at Nintendo Zones varied by location.
Limited use demos could be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop.
- These demos could only be played a limited number of times.
Some games have the option to send a demo to another system.
- This feature was accessed through the game menus and did not normally require an Internet connection.
- These demos were only available as long as the system remains powered on.
