Product Questions

What is Nintendo Labo?

Harnessing the power of the Nintendo Switch console, the Nintendo Labo kits provide the tools and technology to MAKE incredible DIY creations, PLAY games with a mix of physical and digital experiences using these creations, and DISCOVER how the magic of Nintendo Switch technology shapes ideas into reality.

What are Toy-Con?

Toy-Con are the cardboard creations used to interact with the Nintendo Labo software. With each Nintendo Labo kit, kids and parents can transform modular sheets of cardboard - specially designed to interact with Nintendo Switch and Joy-Con controllers - into interactive 3D creations called Toy-Con. Each Toy-Con - from a piano to a motorbike, robot and more - takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch console in interesting ways.

What ages is this product designed for?

Nintendo Labo is designed to have a very broad appeal. Grade-school kids are the main demographic, but younger kids can join in on the fun with help from parents or older siblings. We expect to see fans of all ages trying these experiences.

Is Nintendo Labo an educational tool? Does Nintendo Labo have any educational benefits?

Nintendo LABO offers an enriching, hands-on play experience and introduces some of the fundamentals of technology in a way that's fun and rewarding for both kids and their parents. For example, kids will learn how different physical and digital inputs work together to bring their Toy-Con creations to life.

How long does it take to build each Toy-Con and are additional supplies required?

The time required varies based on the complexity of the Toy-Con and the skill of the builder. The estimated building time is stated on the packaging for each kit. There's a range of durations: some Toy-Con may take no more than 10-20 minutes, while others may take several hours. During longer builds, users can easily take a break between steps, then come back another time to continue.

Do I need a Nintendo Switch console to use these kits?

Yes, a Nintendo Switch console is required, and is sold separately.
