Nintendo Account E-Mail Verification Code is Missing One Digit
Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model
Information to help you when the e-mail verification code you received while setting up a Nintendo Account has four digits instead of five digits.
Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console
- An Internet connection
- A PC or smart device
Information
The email you receive when setting up a Nintendo Account includes a four-digit email verification code. This code is entered on Nintendo's website to complete the Nintendo Account creation process.
This is not the same code as the five-digit confirmation code you can enter on a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to link a Nintendo Account to the console.
Complete these steps
- First, access your PC or smart device and create a Nintendo Account:
- If the "Verification Code" field still appears at the Nintendo Account website, enter the four-digit verification code you received in the email to complete the Nintendo Account creation process.
- If that field no longer appears or you've closed the webpage, visit the Nintendo Account website and follow these steps to create a new Nintendo Account.
- The Nintendo Account is not created until you have entered the four-digit verification code onto the website. If the webpage was closed before the code was entered, the Nintendo Account was not created and you will need to enter your information again.
- You will receive a new four-digit verification code as part of this process.
- Next, link the Nintendo Account to your console:
- Once you have created a Nintendo Account, link the Nintendo Account to your user profile on the console.
- Return to the HOME Menu on the console.
- Select System Settings.
- Select UsersUsuariosUtilisateursUsuários.
- Select your user profile.
- Select Link Nintendo Account.
- Finally, select Sign In and Link where you can enter your Nintendo Account sign-in information.
- The five-digit confirmation code is not needed to complete this process.
- Once you have created a Nintendo Account, link the Nintendo Account to your user profile on the console.
- Your Nintendo Account is now linked to your console. Learn more about using Nintendo Accounts.
