How to Update Software Data Via a Local User on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
Follow these steps to update and exchange software data via local users on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
Important: Steps 1 - 3 must be performed by each of the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch consoles to be used with this feature.
Note
- An Internet connection is not required to use this feature - update data is shared between users over local wireless communication.
- Nintendo Switch 2 consoles can use this feature together with Nintendo Switch consoles to update compatible Nintendo Switch software. However, if the Nintendo Switch software has already been updated with Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features, performance enhancements, or content, you will only be able to match versions with other Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
Before you start
Ensure your console has the latest system update.
-
How to check for the latest system update
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.
For more information, see How to Perform a System Update on Nintendo Switch 2 or How to Perform a System Update on Nintendo Switch.
