How to Remove the Controller Socket Cover

In this article, you'll learn how to remove the Nintendo GameCube Controller Socket cover.
Note
- Only Wii consoles with model number RVL-001 include a controller socket cover.
- The Nintendo GameCube Memory Slot Cover can be removed with the same procedure. It should be removed if using GameCube Memory Cards when the Wii console is placed horizontally.
Complete these steps
- Stand the Wii console upright as shown and squeeze gently until you feel a slight click.
- Remove the cover by pulling straight up out of the console.
- The cover can be replaced by reinserting the cover straight down into the console until it clicks into place.
