How to Download or Update the Nintendo Switch App

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

Follow these steps to download or update the Nintendo Switch App, or review the app's update history.

Note
  • An active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use certain Nintendo Switch App features.
  • Some features can only be used by Nintendo Account holders who are age 13 and older, such as voice chat for Nintendo Switch software.
  • The Nintendo Switch App is compatible with smart devices which use the iOS and Android operating systems.

Complete these steps

  1. From your smart device, visit lounge.nintendo.com.
  2. The link should redirect you to the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android).
  3. Select the appropriate option to download/install or update the application.
  4. Once downloaded, select the Nintendo Switch App icon to open it, and then sign in with your Nintendo Account.

Latest update: Ver. 3.5.0 (Released September 2, 2026)

  • Added the ability to filter and sort uploaded screenshots and videos.
  • Added the ability to delete uploaded screenshots and videos from the server.
  • Added the ability to set the capture date as the save date when saving a screenshot to your device. This feature can be configured from the app settings.
  • Other small bug fixes and improvements have also been made.

    ** If the power-saving feature is activated on devices using Android 6.0 or later, voice chat may be interrupted after the device has entered sleep mode. To use voice chat during sleep mode, go to Other Settings then Power Saving Settings in the app and deactivate battery optimization on the Android device.
