Image on Nintendo Switch Console Screen is Scrambled, Distorted, or Blurry

What to do

• Single game
  1. Ensure your console has the latest system update.
     • How to check for the latest system update
       1. Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
       2. Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
       3. Select System Update to start the system update process.
          • The system will check to see if an update is available.

  2. Restart the console.

       1. Press and hold the POWER Button for at least three seconds.

       3. Select Restart.

  1. Was the game downloaded, or is it on a game card?

  2. 1. Power off the console, then remove and reinsert the game card. Try this a few times.

          2. Select Power Options.
          3. Select Turn Off.

          
     2. Power on the console, then check for any software updates for the game in question.

          1. Ensure the console is connected to the Internet.
          2. From the HOME Menu, select (but do not start) the icon for the software you wish to update.
          3. Press the + Button or – Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

     3. Check to see who the publisher for the software is.

     Who is the publisher of the software?

     Published by Nintendo Published by a licensee

     1. Check for corrupt data.
        • If the issue persists, try redownloading the software.

     If the issue persists with a single downloaded game, the Nintendo Switch console will need to be sent in for service.

  3. The problematic game card will need to be sent in for service. Do not send in the console.
