Solid Color on Nintendo Switch Screen

Steps for when the Nintendo Switch screen is orange, blue, or any other solid color, and the system will not respond.

What to do

Hold down the POWER Button on the system for at least 20 seconds to force it to shut down, then power it on again.
Check for any available system updates.

  1. Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
  3. Select System Update to start the system update process.
    - The system will check to see if an update is available.

If the system screen remains a solid color, the Nintendo Switch system will need to be serviced.
