Error Code: 2101-0001
Follow these steps when you receive the error code 2101-0001 while using Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.
Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console
- An Internet connection

- Restart your console.

Console is not responding
If the console does not respond, hold down the POWER Button for twelve seconds to force it to shut down. Then power it on again.

- Check that your console has the latest system update.

- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

Unable to get past error code screen on Nintendo Switch 2
- Power off the console by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power Options, and then Turn Off.
- If the console does not respond, hold down the POWER Button for twelve seconds to force it to shut down.
- With the console powered off, hold down the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons, then press the POWER Button to turn the console on

- Be sure to keep the volume buttons pressed down until the Recovery Mode menu is displayed.
- Once in Recovery Mode, select Update System and follow the prompts to complete this process.
- If a Parental Control PIN has been set for the console, you will be prompted to enter it. If you have forgotten the PIN number, it will need to be reset.

How to check for the latest system update
- If the error is still displayed, remove the microSD card.

- With the console powered off, locate the microSD card slot:
- Nintendo Switch 2: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch: Gently swing the stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Nintendo Switch Lite: Gently open the microSD card slot cover.
- Nintendo Switch 2: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
- Gently push down on the top of the microSD card until you hear a click, then slide it out of the microSD card slot.

- With the console powered off, locate the microSD card slot:
