How to Deregister a Nintendo Account's Pass-enabled Console

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, Nintendo Account

Follow these steps to deregister the pass-enabled Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console registered for your Nintendo Account.

Note
  • Deregistering one console will allow you to select a different console as the pass-enabled console for your Nintendo Account. Each Nintendo Account can have one pass-enabled console at a time.
  • This feature is available in countries where the Nintendo eShop is available.

Complete these steps

  • Deregister using the pass-enabled console (recommended)
    1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
    2. Select the Nintendo Account you want to deregister on the console.
    3. If you have enabled user verification, you may be prompted to confirm your identity by re-entering your password or entering a PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN .

        If you have forgotten your password, please follow Forgot Nintendo Account Sign-in Info.

      • Forgot  PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN  or entered  PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN  incorrectly

        If you have forgotten your user-verification PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN or you entered the incorrect PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN too many times, follow these steps:

        1. With the PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN entry screen displayed, press the + button.         2. Select Sign InIniciar sesiónSe connecterIniciar sessão.
        3. Sign in to your Nintendo Account.
        4. A message will appear indicating that your PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN has been deleted. Select OK Aceptar OK OK .
          • Note that this will not turn off user verification, but instead switch it to requiring you to sign in to your Nintendo Account. You can change back to the PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN verification method and create a new PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN in your User Settings.

    4. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
    5. Deregister the console.
      • How to deregister the pass-enabled console on Nintendo Switch 2

        The following steps must be done on your current pass-enabled console.

        1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
        2. Select the user that is linked to your Nintendo Account.
        3. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
        4. Select Settings.
        5. Scroll down to the Pass-enabled Console section.
        6. Select Deregister.
        7. If prompted, enter your Nintendo Account password to confirm.
        8. Repeat these steps for any additional Nintendo Accounts that you wish to deregister from this console.
        9. The next time you connect to the Nintendo eShop, the console you use to connect will automatically be registered as your pass-enabled console.

      • How to deregister the pass-enabled console on Nintendo Switch

        The following steps must be done on your current pass-enabled console.

        1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
        2. Select the user that is linked to your Nintendo Account.
        3. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
        4. Scroll down to the Pass-enabled Console section.
        5. Select Deregister twice to confirm. If your account is set to require a password, you will also need to enter your Nintendo Account password to confirm.
        6. Repeat these steps for any additional Nintendo Accounts that you wish to deregister from this console.
        7. The next time you connect to the Nintendo eShop, the console you use to connect will automatically be registered as your pass-enabled console.

  • Deregister using the Nintendo Account Shop Menu website

    Note: Deregistering a pass-enabled console through the Shop Menu website can only be done once per year. If you have the pass-enabled console available, we recommend deregistering on the console itself.

    1. Using a web browser, visit the Shop Menu (ec.nintendo.com/my) website.
    2. Sign in to the Nintendo Account you wish to deregister.
    3. Scroll down and select Deregister Pass-enabled Console.
    4. Enter your Nintendo Account password.
    5. Select Deregister twice to confirm.
    6. The next time you connect to the Nintendo eShop from a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console, the console you use to connect will automatically be set as your pass-enabled console.
