How to Manage or Delete Downloadable Software on Nintendo Switch

Complete these steps

Check that your console has the latest system update.

  1. Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
  3. Select System Update to start the system update process.
     • The system will check to see if an update is available.

• How to manage individual software titles in System Settings
  1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu .
  2. Scroll down the options on the left and select Data ManagementGestión de datosGestion des donnéesGerenciar dados.
  3. Select Manage SoftwareGestionar programaGérer le logicielGerenciar software on the right-hand side, then select the software you would like to manage or delete. Depending on the system menu version, one or more of the following options will be available:
     • Prevent Auto Archiving: The software will not be archived automatically. When archiving software manually, it will be listed toward the bottom of the list.
     • Archive SoftwareArchivar el programaArchiver le logicielArquivar o software: Select Archive SoftwareArchivar el programaArchiver le logicielArquivar o software, then Archive to free up storage space. You can redownload the software by selecting the software icon on the HOME Menu.
     • Delete Software: The software and the icon will be deleted from the HOME Menu. You can redownload it using the same Nintendo Account with which it was purchased.
     • Check for Corrupt Data: Check for corrupt data on downloadable software.

  1. Select a software icon from the HOME Menu.
  2. Select OptionsOpcionesOptionsOpções at the bottom of the screen or press the - or + Buttons on the Joy-Con controllers.
  3. Select Manage SoftwareGestionar programaGérer le logicielGerenciar software, then Archive SoftwareArchivar el programaArchiver le logicielArquivar o software.
• How to archive multiple software titles simultaneously
  1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
  2. Select Data ManagementGestión de datosGestion des donnéesGerenciar dados, then Quick Archive.
  3. Select all the software titles you would like to archive, then select Archive Data, and finally select Archive.
