How to Charge the Nintendo Switch Console

In this article, you'll learn how to charge a Nintendo Switch system.

  • Nintendo Switch systems are compatible with the Nintendo Switch AC adapter only (model No. HAC-002).
  • Nintendo Switch systems require approximately 3 hours to fully charge.
  1. Which system are you using?
  2. Nintendo Switch can be charged in the following ways:

    Directly with the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter.

    Connect the USB plug from the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) into the USB connector on the bottom of the console, then connect the AC adapter directly into a wall outlet.

    Using the Nintendo Switch Dock
    1. Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) to the Nintendo Switch dock (HAC-007) or the Nintendo Switch dock with LAN port (HEG-007).
      • Open the back cover of the dock.

      • Connect the USB plug from the AC Adapter into the top terminal of the dock labeled AC Adapter then close the cover.

    2. Dock the Nintendo Switch console, ensuring that the LCD screen is facing the same direction as the front panel of the dock. Then connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter into the wall outlet.

    Directly with the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter.

    Connect the USB plug from the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) into the USB connector on the bottom of the console, then connect the AC adapter directly into a wall outlet.

    Nintendo Switch can be charged in the following ways:

    Directly with the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter.

    Using the Nintendo Switch Dock with LAN port
    1. Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) to the Nintendo Switch dock (HAC-007) or the Nintendo Switch dock with LAN port (HEG-007).

      • Connect the USB plug from the AC Adapter into the top terminal of the dock labeled AC Adapter then close the cover.

    2. Dock the Nintendo Switch console, ensuring that the LCD screen is facing the same direction as the front panel of the dock. Then connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter into the wall outlet.
