How to Change the Parental Controls PIN for Nintendo Switch
Follow these steps to change the Parental Controls PIN for a Nintendo Switch console.

Is your Nintendo Switch console linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on a smart device?

Nintendo Switch is linked to app
Note: While the Nintendo Switch console is linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on a smart device, the PIN can only be changed through the smart device app.
- Open the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on your iOS or Android device.

Don't have access to the app
If you don’t have access to the app, unlink the app from your console. This will remove the parental controls.
- On the Nintendo Switch console, select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to highlight Parental Controls, then select Unregister App.
- If this option doesn't appear, your console is not linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app.
- Enter the Parental Control PIN.
- If you can’t remember your PIN, we have steps for how to locate or reset it.
- Select Unregister.
- Select OK to return to the System Settings.
- Once the app is unlinked, you can set up parental controls again directly on the console to set a new PIN.

Don't have access to the app
- Select Parental Controls in the lower-right corner. If you have more than one Nintendo Switch console linked to the app, tap the menu icon in the upper-left corner to choose the correct console.
- Select Parental-Controls PIN.
- Next to the current PIN, tap Change.
- Enter the new 4-8 digit PIN that you want to set, then tap Confirm.
- In the lower-right corner, tap Save.
- The new PIN will be set as soon as the Nintendo Switch console connects online.
- Open the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on your iOS or Android device.

Nintendo Switch is not linked to app, or unsure
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to Parental Controls.
- Select Change Settings.

Options are "Sync with Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App" and "Unregister App"
This means your console is already linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app. Follow the steps above to change the PIN through the app.
