How to Archive Software on Nintendo Switch

How to archive downloadable software on Nintendo Switch.

Complete these steps

How do you want to archive software?

  • Archive individual software

    From the Software Options Menu:

    1. Select a software icon from the HOME Menu.
    2. Select OptionsOpcionesOptionsOpções at the bottom of the screen, or press the - or + Buttons on the Joy-Con controllers.
    3. Select Manage SoftwareGestionar programaGérer le logicielGerenciar software, then Archive SoftwareArchivar el programaArchiver le logicielArquivar o software. Archive Software being selected in the Manage Software option highlighted on the Software Options Menu

    From within Data Management:

    1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
    2. Select Data ManagementGestión de datosGestion des donnéesGerenciar dados.
    3. Select Manage SoftwareGestionar programaGérer le logicielGerenciar software.
    4. Choose the software title you would like to archive, then select Archive SoftwareArchivar el programaArchiver le logicielArquivar o software.
    5. Select Archive.
  • Archive multiple software

    From within Data Management:

    1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
    2. Select Data ManagementGestión de datosGestion des donnéesGerenciar dados.
    3. Select Quick Archive.
    4. Choose all the software titles you would like to archive, then select Archive Data.
    5. Select Archive.

Additional information

  • Downloadable software can be archived in order to free up space.
  • Once archived, you can redownload the software by selecting the software icon on the HOME Menu.
  • Archiving software will not impact your save data.
