How to Set up a Wired Internet Connection

In this article, you'll learn how to set up a wired Internet connection.

Complete these steps

Install the Wii LAN Adapter.
From the Wii U Menu, select System Settings.
Using the Left Stick, select the Internet icon and press the A Button.
Select Connect to the Internet.
Press the Y Button or tap Connection Types located in the top-left corner.
Select Wired Connection.
When prompted to connect the Wii LAN Adapter, tap OK.
The Wii U will perform a connection test.
- If the connection test fails, select OK to receive an error code and detailed information on why the connection test failed. For further assistance in troubleshooting your Internet connection, search for the error code within our knowledge base.
If the test is successful, tap OK.
When asked if you would like to make this your default connection, select Set if you wish this to be your default connection or No if you do not.
The Wii U will now ask you to perform an update, select Update to perform an update or select Cancel to skip this process.
