How to Set up Parental Controls for the Wii Menu

In this article, you'll learn how to set up parental controls for the Wii Menu features.
Complete these steps
- From the Wii U Menu, select Parental Controls.
- If prompted, tap Next and enter the four-digit PIN.
- If the PIN has been forgotten, it will need to be reset.
- Select Wii Menu Settings or press the X Button.
- In Wii Mode, the same restrictions apply to all users.
- Tap OK.
- Tap the feature you wish to restrict/allow:
- Game Rating: Restricts all usage (as well as purchases through the Wii Shop Channel) of software outside the selected range.
- Wii Shopping Services: Restricts the use of Wii points, but does not restrict the purchase of points or downloading of free software.
- Certain Online Features: Restricts the use of some online features of software and the exchange of certain content over the Internet.
- Viewing of Unrated Content: Restricts some miscellaneous content, excluding videos for rated games.
- Tap Save or press the B Button.
- Tap Save.
- Tap OK to return to the Wii U Parental Controls.
- Tap Back or press the B Button when you are finished.
