How to Update Hyrule Warriors

In this article, you'll learn how to install the Hyrule Warriors update.
On October 30, 2016, a new update for Hyrule Warriors became available for download. Please take a moment to download this update data while your Wii U console is connected to the internet.
Note
- Mid-battle progress may be lost if the game update is applied. If the game was saved mid-battle and the game update is installed, the battle will need to be restarted from the beginning. Completed battles will not need to be restarted from the beginning.
- If the system's Standby Functions are enabled, the update will download and install automatically.
Complete these steps
- Connect the Wii U console to the Internet.
- Return to the Wii U Menu and launch Hyrule Warriors.
- The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
- Once the update is installed, the newest version number will be displayed on the title screen.

Ver. 1.8.0 (Released March 25, 2016)
- Added the option to unlock new warriors Linkle, Skull Kid, Toon Link, Tetra, and King Daphones, as well as Ganondorf's new Trident weapons.
- To unlock the new warriors and item, you will need to purchase Hyrule Warriors Legends and enter the included 16-digit download code in Nintendo eShop on Wii U
- If you purchased the physical copy, the download code is on a paper insert inside the packaging.
- If you purchased a digital version, the download code will be included on the digital receipt on the Nintendo eShop.
Ver. 1.6.0 (Released March 12, 2015)
- The maximum warrior level is now 255!

- Your battle results will now be recorded in Challenge Mode, and new scenarios have been added!
Ver. 1.5.0 (Released February 5, 2015)

Ver. 1.4.0 (Released November 27, 2014)

- You can now carry up to 999 of a single type of material!

- You can now receive amiibo presents! Touch an amiibo to the GamePad while on the title screen to get a random bonus. An amiibo can give you only one present a day, but you can receive up to five presents if you use five different amiibo.
Ver. 1.3.0 (Released October 16, 2014)
- Added playable warriors: Cia, Voiga, and Wizzro.
- Added Midbattle Cinematics On/Off function. This option lets you select whether cinematics will play during Adventure Mode battles. Toggle them on or off in Game Settings, found in the Settings menu.
Ver. 1.2.1 (Released September 26, 2014)
- Challenge Mode Added - Try your hand at new battle types! The first is Running Battle in Faron Woods, a series of challenges that demand speed in order to attain high ranks!
- BGM Settings Function Added - You are now able to select which background music plays during each mission. Just select BGM Settings in the prebattle menu to change the music.
- 8-Bit Wooden Sword Added - A new type of Hylian Sword for Link. It's a bit unusual, but longtime fans will know it's dangerous to go alone!
- Fixed the following game bugs:
- Maximum health is decreased after losing a battle.
- Sound from the TV does not play during GamePad Play.
- Music stops playing on the battle victory screen.
- The game freezes after winning a battle.
- The game freezes randomly when using a network connection.
