Wrong Nintendo Network ID on the Nintendo 3DS

The information in this article can help you change the Nintendo Network ID currently associated to your Nintendo 3DS family system.

Note: Only one Nintendo Network ID can be associated to the system at a time.

What to do

  1. Format the Nintendo 3DS family system.
    • Formatting the system will remove the Nintendo Network ID, so that a different one can be linked or created.
    • Nintendo Network accounts removed via system formatting can be linked again to the same system in the future. Nintendo eShop purchases and balances will be retained for Nintendo Network accounts removed and relinked in this way.
  2. Once the system format is complete, link an existing Nintendo Network ID or create a new one.
