System Requirements for Off-Device Purchases
Applies to: Nintendo Account
Once you have purchased a digital game through Nintendo.com, your game will download to the system that is associated to your Nintendo Account (Nintendo Switch) or Nintendo Network ID (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS).
To complete the automatic download, your system must meet the following requirements:
Nintendo Switch • Wii U • Nintendo 3DS family- The Nintendo Switch console must be the active console for the Nintendo Account that was used to make the purchase.
- The Nintendo Switch must have an active Internet connection. For help setting up or troubleshooting your Internet connection, click here.
- The Nintendo Switch must have enough memory space available for the game.
- The system must be turned on or in sleep mode when you redeem the game.
- The Wii U must be associated to the Nintendo Network ID that was used to make the purchase.
- The Wii U must have an active Internet connection. For help setting up or troubleshooting your Internet connection, click here.
- The Wii U must have enough memory space available for the game.
- The system must be turned on or in standby mode when you redeem the game.
- The Nintendo 3DS family system must be associated to the Nintendo Network ID that was used to make the purchase.
- The Nintendo 3DS must have an active Internet connection. For help setting up or troubleshooting your Internet connection, click here.
- The Nintendo 3DS family system must be updated to menu version 9.0.0-20U or higher. For help updating your system, click here.
- The Nintendo 3DS must have connected to the Nintendo eShop at least once since the last system update.
- The Nintendo 3DS family system must have enough memory space available for the game.
- The Nintendo 3DS needs to be turned on or in sleep mode when you redeem the game.
